Introduction
The Career Office at Midwest Institute of Sciences operates under the supervision of the Director Campus and is jointly managed by the Public Relations Manager (PRM) and the Human Resources (HR) Manager.
- PRM Responsibilities: Establishing collaborations and formal agreements (MoUs) with hospitals and healthcare institutions.
- HR Manager Responsibilities: Coordinating graduate placements and internships in line with the established MoUs.
As an affiliated institute of SZABMU, the Career Office focuses on creating practical opportunities for students to gain professional experience and improve employability.
Functions of the Career Office
The Career Office performs the following key functions:
Industry Collaboration & MoUs
- Identifying and establishing partnerships with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare institutions.
- Formalizing partnerships through MoUs to ensure structured training and internship programs.
Internship & Placement Coordination
- Arranging internships and clinical placements for students of SZABMU-affiliated programs.
- Matching students with hospitals in accordance with MoU agreements.
Career Guidance & Professional Development
- Offering guidance for career pathways, professional opportunities, and skill development.
- Supporting students in CV preparation, interview readiness, and workplace orientation.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Ensuring compliance with MoU terms.
- Tracking student internship performance and providing feedback to host institutions.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintaining records of partnerships, internship placements, and student progress.
- Preparing annual reports for the Director Campus and institutional records.
Career Office Achievements 2025‑26
By March 2026, the Career Office successfully:
Developed Collaborations with 8 Hospitals:
- Islamabad: Farooq Hospital (Islamabad branch), Ali Medical, Quaid‑e‑Azam International Hospital, Advanced International Hospital, The Diabetes Centre, Saeed International Hospital.
- Rawalpindi: Hanif Medical Complex.
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand): Gulrang International Hospital.
Internship Placements for First Batch BS Nursing Students:
- Accommodated the first batch BS Nursing students in the above hospitals for one-year paid internships, providing practical exposure and professional experience.
Placement Initiatives for Second Batch Graduates:
- The second batch of BS Nursing students scheduled to be graduated in March 2026.
- The Career Office has initiated the process for their placement in affiliated hospitals for paid internships in line with existing MoUs.
Strengthening Industry Relations:
- Formal MoUs executed with all eight hospitals to ensure compliance with training standards, work schedules, and stipends.
- Continuous communication maintained with hospital management for effective student integration.
Student Feedback & Monitoring:
- Collected and reviewed student performance and satisfaction data from host hospitals.
- Feedback is used to improve placement strategies and address concerns proactively.
